I tried doing the above, but the error continued. made another company code; same thing.
It was only when i assigned the C and v profile to my company code that the error got resolved.

Follow below path
And ensure, you controlling area is not assigned to any C+V profile.
If it is assigned to "0", remove 0 and save.
Hope this will solve your issue..
